Chronopolis |
If Nintendo does decide to go the sequel route, I think it should have a new gimmick that would seperate it from the original. My vote would be a time travel mechanic. Let's say you're fighting Boswer, some time thingy does something and suddenly different areas throughout time are joined together in a massive open area. This would also increase the open-world aspect as you could try fighting your way directly to Bowser's castle or go on alternate side missions. Think of Chronopolis in Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 which is basically the same thing but with Marvel characters (if any of you have played that game). It would also be interesting to have more villians. Say you have to rescue Peach from Bowser's kingdom, E.Gadd from a haunted king boo kingdom and Baby Mario from a magic kingdom ran by Kamek (I'll explain this later). Here are some ideas for kingdom that I have:
Mushroom Kingdom: Peaches Castle
This one is pretty self-explanatory. It acts as a hub where you start the game in the middle of the map
Yoshi's Island |
Imagine this, you're blasted out of an area into Yoshi's Island and you hear the classic music. You look through the trees and find a Yoshi carrying a Baby Mario. You then realize that you've traveled back in time to when Mario was younger and you've to help Yoshi because someone from the modern era intervenes - Kamek. He teams up with past Kamek and they capture Baby Mario. Mario must then help Yoshi rescue him.
Desert Kingdom: Tostarena Frontier
The past version of Tostarena where there's a wild west theme with cowboys and ranches.
Crocodile Isle |
Imagine if Super Mario Odyseey 2 had a kingdom set in the past where King K. Rool and his Kremlings ruled an island and had a pirate theme and Mario had to defeat the Kremlings to gain back the island, that would be AMAZING!
Techno Kingdom: Electrodome
A kingdom set in the far far future in a massive dome with robots and capturable bob-ombs being produced in factories
Subcon |
A kingdom set in the world of Super Mario Bros. 2 with Wart as a boss fight.
Magic Kingdom: Kamek's Library
I already mentioned this one at the start. I think it would so cool to explore Kamek's magic library where everything is mysterious and things randomly move around
Cloud Kingdom: Nimbus Area
I thought the cloud kingdom in Super Mario Odyssey was far too shot. I know a lot of people would say that there isn't much you can do with a cloud kingdom beside just lot's of clouds, but you could have bouncing platforms, vines and a massive airship that takes up most of the world with capturable rocky wrenches and mechakoopas.
Jungle Kingdom: Donkey Kong Island
I think that my Pirate Kingdom idea is probably too optimistic but I can see a DK kingdom happening. Donkey Kong has already been in Mario games and lots of fans would really appreciate this area.
Sunshine Kingdom: Isle delfino
This is on almost everyone's list as to kingdoms we need in Odyssey. It would be a perfect fit and could replace the Seaside kingdom nicely.
Hollijolli Village |
Set in the past (M&L: Partners in Time) in a snowy Christmas village, also I love the original music. Link to Music
Future Kingdom: Newer Donk City
A future version of New Donk City with flying cars and futuristic building
Rocky Kingdom
I can't come up with a good name for this kingdom but it's basically just the classic cliff kingdom with capturable whomps, thwomps and monty moles.
Luigi's Mansion |
I think almost everyone wants a haunted kingdom with boos and Luigi, etc. It could also take place at the start of the original Luigi's Mansion much like I said with Yoshi's Island
Dark Kingdom: Medievland
A reimagined version of the ruined kingdom that's far bigger with dragons and other medieval enemies.
Carnival Kingdom: Bowser World
Bowser's Theme Park |
Bowser's Castle |
Bowser's Kingdom: Lava Fortress
As much as I enjoyed the Japanese spin on Bowser's Kingdom in Odyssey, I prefer the traditional lava world in video games. I'd love a classic lava level with a Bowser fight at the end, nothing fancy
Comet Observatory |
Sarasaland |
I think there should be 2 post-game kingdoms. One that unlocks at 250 moons and one at 500, similar to the dark and darker side of the moon. These would be Sarasaland and a space kingdom (maybe Comet Observatory?)
Anyways, that's my full list of kingdoms I want in Odyssey 2 or maybe DLC. What kingdoms do you want in Odyssey 2 or DLC? Do you agree with my list? Comment down below.
the grammar on that was beautiful
