Super Mario Odyssey is a dream come true. For so long, I've wanted another open-world Mario game that focuses more on exploration then platforming, and this is exactly that. In this game you take control of, as you probably guessed, Mario and his sidekick Cappy (a hat) as you travel through different kingdoms to get to Bowser and rescue Peach and Tiara (Cappy's sister). In each kingdom, you must collect a certain amount of moons (this game's main collectible) while also completing the main story objectives (although this optional). There are also gold and purple coins which you can use to buy items in the shop. This game has so many things going for it. The soundtrack is superb, the game looks amazing and there is so much to do after you have completed the main story. This is the best Mario has controlled in a video game in my opinion. His movements are so fluid and there are so many options. Mario returns with most of his usual moves, he can jump, crouch, long jump, gro...

The Wii U is largely considered a commercial failure. I personally loved the Wii U and thought it was a great console but it wasn't a success for Nintendo. However, the Nintendo Switch is clearly a major success for Nintendo and has nearly made the Wii U's lifetime sales in it's first year. It's clear that Nintendo is moving on to their next console as they always do. However, Nintendo seems to be trying to make everyone forget that the Wii U ever happened. What I mean by this is that they are just making the Switch the definitive version of the Wii U. It's more of what the Wii U should have been instead of being a new console. Nintendo is porting over most of the Wii U games to this 'new and improved version of the console' ruining the Wii U's legacy as most people will now remember these as Nintendo Switch games. Nintendo has released some Wii U ports for the Switch and we already know of 4 upcoming ones (being Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Bayonetta 1, Bayonetta 2 and Hyrule Warriors). I think it's good that many people who didn't have the Wii U now have the chance to play these great games. The question that I have is what's next. What other games could they port to the Switch? Chronopolis It's pretty clear that Super Mario Odyssey was a major success for Nintendo, both critically and commercially, and a sequel or DLC is almost guaranteed. I'd probably prefer DLC over a sequel as I want Nintendo to keep on making all-new Mario titles but I would still be OK with a potential Super Mario Odyssey 2. Anyways, I have a few ideas for DLC or a potential sequel. If Nintendo does decide to go the sequel route, I think it should have a new gimmick that would seperate it from the original. My vote would be a time travel mechanic. Let's say you're fighting Boswer, some time thingy does something and suddenly different areas throughout time are joined together in a massive open area. This would also increase the open-world aspect as you could try fighting your way directly to Bowser's castle or go on alternate side missions. Super Mario Odyssey is one of my favourite Mario games of all time. It finally returns to the open-world style of Super Mario 64 and Sunshine in the form of multiple kingdoms where you must collect a certain amount of moons to move on to the next one. It's so much fun exploring different kingdoms especially since they don't all follow the basic pattern of grass, desert, water, ice, jungle, cliff, cloud, lava, but instead have unique aspects such as a forest with robots or a desert covered in ice. That said, some kingdoms are better than others so I thought I'd rank all 17 kingdoms in Super Mario Odyssey. (Of course this is just my opinion, not a definitive list). Nintendo just had their Nintendo Direct and with it they've announced a ton of new games. So I thought I'd list all of the games coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2018 (and beyond)  So, in order of release date, here are all the games coming to Switch as of the 13th January.  There will obviously be more games announced in the future as well as lots of Indies and I can't list them all. So Nintendo randomly dropped their 'mini' direct 2 days ago without any notice which was quite annoying as there wasn't much lead up and spoilers for it were everywhere. I love going into presentations knowing nothing but before I went into this one, I already knew about so many things from the thumbnail and suggested videos beside it. Aside from that, I thought Nintendo had a pretty decent showing. It wasn't mind-blowing (No Smash Bros, Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem, Etc.), but it was a nice look into what's coming in the first half of 2018. First we were shown The World Ends With You - Final Remix which I wasn't too excited for as I never played the original but its good that other people want it. The more games on the Switch, the better! Then we got some DLC for Pokkén Tournament Deluxe which I did not expect at all. I think it looks cool but I'm not sure if I'll pick it up.
